(l) There is a Saturn-Uranus opposition which peaked precisely on the United States election day of November 4, 2008. Saturn rules authority and the upholding of the past order. Uranus, on the other hand, rules sudden, unprecedented change. So, the election contest was decided on that date in such a way that the newly elected President will have serious responsibilities. If this is handled in a positive way, it will result in a favorable balance between an orderly society and innovative reforms.
(2) All of the planets are currently on one side of the astrological chart (and, therefore, the sky as seen from the earth). This is a favorable time for specialization and focus, although not so much for an all-inclusive perspective. Effort is needed for both technical progress and the ability to see this in its overall role for the greater good.
(3) Much is happening in the sign of sidereal Capricorn: Neptune, Chiron, the North Node, and heliocentric Jupiter are all in Capricorn. The topics to which Capricorn gives rise in world affairs are government, the military, law and order, honesty and integrity, survival, practicality, goal-setting, hard work, and long-term planning. Therefore, the work which is being done now will bear fruit for many years to come. The lessons to be learned during this time are patience, diligence, and groundedness. The stability now being created will provide an anchor for the great changes which will occur during the Uranus-Pluto square of 2012.
