What is Happening Astrologically in the World Economy

(l) There is a Saturn-Uranus opposition which peaked precisely on the United States election day of November 4, 2008. Saturn rules authority and the upholding of the past order. Uranus, on the other hand, rules sudden, unprecedented change. So, the election contest was decided on that date in such a way that the newly elected President will have serious responsibilities. If this is handled in a positive way, it will result in a favorable balance between an orderly society and innovative reforms.

(2) All of the planets are currently on one side of the astrological chart (and, therefore, the sky as seen from the earth). This is a favorable time for specialization and focus, although not so much for an all-inclusive perspective. Effort is needed for both technical progress and the ability to see this in its overall role for the greater good.

(3) Much is happening in the sign of sidereal Capricorn: Neptune, Chiron, the North Node, and heliocentric Jupiter are all in Capricorn. The topics to which Capricorn gives rise in world affairs are government, the military, law and order, honesty and integrity, survival, practicality, goal-setting, hard work, and long-term planning. Therefore, the work which is being done now will bear fruit for many years to come. The lessons to be learned during this time are patience, diligence, and groundedness. The stability now being created will provide an anchor for the great changes which will occur during the Uranus-Pluto square of 2012.

Financial Prosperity Grows from Respect for the Origins of Life

The Sun in our solar system is considered to be the origin of life on this planet. The Sun in astrology rules gold, which used to be the standard for what money is worth. Even how, with the paper standard for money, the paper came from trees which grew because of the Sun.

Volcanoes, which are very fiery like the Sun - like new life springing up from the earth - result in very fertile soil for growing plants. Volcanoes have also been used to heat buildings and grow
crops in greenhouses in Iceland. Volcanoes emit the basic ingredients of the earth's atmosphere, such as nitrogen, hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide supports plant life, and plants release oxygen which sustains our life.

The world's present economy is very dependent on oil, and oil comes from former life. Coal does too. Diamonds are considered an essential ingredient of organic compounds.

One of the most promising industries for the future is solar power. Ways are being developed of making it more universally available at less cost, and it would not pollute like oil or coal, which come from former life, rather than directly from the Sun.

The Sun in astrology refers to your individual identity. Your first experience of your independent identity from your mother was at your birth, and your astrological chart is based on your birth. A chart for your conception could also theoretically be drawn; it would more directly represent the original creation of your life. Your birth and your conception are very important, as the basis of your life and your prosperity. Like the Sun, you were created by God and your potential is, therefore, infinite.
