Pluto and Overall Prosperity Trends

Pluto rules the subtle influences which are happening on a mass level. We have just come out of twelve years of Pluto being in (sidereal) Scorpio and, since the end of 2005, Pluto has been in Sagittarius.

Despite the current, world economic downturn, Sagittarius is a sign of abundance, optimism, and prosperity. The reason for the current "recession" is that the final remnants of the Pluto in Scorpio time are unravelling for once and for all.

Pluto in Scorpio was a time of major upheavals, disasters, floods, international conspiracies, and financial plots. The sub-prime mortgage scam, which was the final stage as to how these events brought down the world economy, was finally revealed, and steps are now being taken to oversee broad-scoped finances and prevent anything like that from happening again in the future.

The new Sagittarian trend will be about openness and honesty. Because of the goodwill and generosity associated with this, the economy will prosper - worldwide - as it has never done before! Countries are united in creating good. Prosperity will reach the poorest of the poor - even in the most remote regions of the earth. Inner city poverty will be eradicated. People of all religions - after a time of sorting out their differences and realizing their common belief in the highest good - will unite in a global spiritual, financial, and prosperous rebirth!

Astrological Transcendence of Disasters for World Prosperity

Have you ever thought of the human and financial cost to a prosperous economy every time that there is a disaster? Would it not make more sense to focus on disaster prevention before anything like that happens?

Disasters represent blocks to what is right, good, and natural, and preventing them is a matter of generating a positive outlook on the higher plane and going beyond the false, negative beliefs of the material plane. Disasters do not have to happen. The astrological indicators of what would happen in a worst-case scenario can be seen ahead of time, and the appropriate steps can be taken to avert any negative outcome.

This past fall I had an extensive article published on the Astro Software website, entitled "Astrological Transcendence of Disasters". It is self-explanatory and, rather than repeat its insights here, it will be easier to refer you to this very valuable resource, where you can read it in its entirity. Here is how to find it:

On the Astro Software website, click on "Community Service" in the left-hand column. Then click on "Astrology Articles". Then under Authors, find "Lorna Houston", and click on the article.

The Economic Insights of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi - who introduced the technique of Transcendental Meditation to the western world - also taught a course called the Science of Creative Intelligence. It included a World Plan, with seven enlightened objectives in the areas of Individual, Governmental, Educational, Social, Environmental, Economic and Spiritual. The Economic objective was "To bring fulfillment to the economic aspirations of individuals and society".

Maharishi aimed to solve the age-old problems of mankind in this generation. This goal is being achieved (still at a relatively subtle level) because the age-old economic problems are now coming to the surface, where they can be examined and solved for once and for all. The whole world is now united in dealing with the same economic challenges, and solutions are unfolding. There are many enlightened meditators in various countries around the world who are using their inner awareness to bring the world economy into harmony with divine law.

In the early 1970s, Maharishi identified two overall economic problems. One is "Economic inbalance causing problems of poverty, unemployment and instability". He said that this problem comes from "Imbalance of individual life which results in the failure to integrate creative thinking with productive activity for the good of all". He described the solution as "Developing full creative intelligence and using it in all fields of thought and action. This alone will strengthen the coordination between creative thinking and dynamic activity to achieve the goals of economics in an equitable and harmonious way".

The second economic problem is "Problems in industry and administration". He described its origin in this way: "Since the nature of life is to grow, when creative intelligence fails to find opportunities for new expressions owing to routine work, the seed of discontent is sown. It sprouts in boredom and frustration at work and grows into dissatisfaction in all directions, overshadowing even the soothing influence of love of family, friends and society at large". He described the solution as: "Daily opportunity for every individual's awareness to go beyond boundaries. This is the practical way to satisfy the evolutionary tendency of man's creative intelligence to grow into fullness".

Note: I was initiated into Transcendental Meditation on June 9, 1973 at 12:00 noon in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. After 35 1/2 years, I am still practising the technique regularly for 20 minutes twice a day.

Listen to Those with Broad-Scoped Economic Ideals

Astrology gives a cosmic, objective view of the earth, but the link between it and real economic progress is the work of the rare, intelligent few who seek to create a better world with prosperity for all.

Where do you find these inspiring individuals? Some of them may be the winners of the Nobel Prize for Economics. Some may work for the United Nations. Some may hold a political office but be there in the role of true statesmen rather than power-seeking politicians. Some may be the heads of companies whose efforts come from their sincere, religious beliefs rather than profit for its own sake. Some may be ordinary people trying to raise their children properly, knowing that the hand which rocks the cradle rules the world. Some may be unknown beggars or buskers conveying truths to those who pass by.

If you keep an open mind yourself, you will recognize truth, no matter who speaks it or what means they use. It will stand out in your mind, even years later, that a particular person had a different perspective which was "outside of the box", and that their insights are the key to a more prosperous world.

In astrology, the older souls - that is, those who come into this world with much past experience - are generally the ones who are most capable of providing objective, spiritual insights, and they are represented by the sidereal, fixed signs. The mutable signs indicate those who are still learning, and the cardinal signs the new souls, who tend to react rather than respond knowledgeably. However, because anyone has individual willpower and choice, anyone can potentially become an effective channel for the Divine.
